Overview
Following the closure of Top Thrill Dragster, Cedar Point announced plans to transform the ride and introduce a triple-launch section. The ride was heavily modified by Zamperla with a vertical spike added to the opposite end of the ride to the existing top hat. Guests begin by launching forward towards the top hat, then fall backwards towards the spike before heading forwards again over the top hat.
The ride reopened in May 2024 however after a week Cedar Point announced there would be an extended closure whilst the trains received modification. The ride is due to reopen in 2025.

I was lucky enough to ride Top Thrill 2 before it closed, and it did not disappoint. The launches are so powerful, and the spike is way taller than it looks from the ground. It’s a short ride, but the whole experience is incredible — definitely worth the wait.
