Herschend to acquire Palace Entertainment's US properties

Herschend, has announced a significant expansion with the acquisition of all U.S. entertainment properties owned by Palace Entertainment in agreement with parent company Parques Reunidos.
The move is planned to strengthen Herschend's position as a leading family entertainment company while allowing Parques Reunidos to concentrate on it's core European market.
Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Herschend sees this acquisition as a natural step forward. "Today's announcement marks a natural expansion and continuation of our vision," said Andrew Wexler, CEO of Herschend. "By growing wisely and staying true to our purpose, we are building a future where we can continue creating memories worth repeating for generations to come."
Palace Entertainment has some notable properties, including:
- Kennywood - Pittsburghs iconic amusement park
- Dutch Wonderland - A family focused theme park in Lancaster
- Lake Compounce - The oldest amusement park in the United States
These will be joining with Herschends existing parks including Dollywood, Kentucky Kingdom and Silver Dollar City.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalised in the coming months.
