Efteling Announces New Family Drop Tower for Summer 2026
Tuesday 22 April 2025 News

Efteling, the beloved Dutch theme park, has officially revealed plans for a brand-new family attraction set to open in summer 2026. The upcoming ride will be a family-friendly free fall tower located right next to the popular B&M dive coaster, Baron 1898 - and it will share the same mining theme.
According to Koen Sanders, Director of Product, Market & Image at Efteling: "This new family attraction seamlessly complements the area around Baron 1898. It is deliberately smaller in scale and, as a result, adds to the capacity and attraction offer for a wider audience. Matching our area vision, the atmosphere and theme is similar to Baron 1898 to fully immerse our guests in the story of the Baron and the Wailing Women."
The new drop tower ride is being designed by Karel Willemen, one of Efteling’s long-time creative leads. In keeping with Efteling’s immersive storytelling tradition, guests will step into the role of chimney sweepers working for the baron. This character-driven narrative deepens the lore behind Baron 1898 and continues the tale of the Baron and the mysterious Wailing Women.
This new drop tower marks another step in Efteling’s ongoing efforts to expand its attraction lineup and provide more options for guests of all ages. By enhancing the Baron 1898 area, the park aims to increase visitor flow and storytelling depth without overwhelming the existing atmosphere.
Stay tuned for more updates as Efteling reveals further details about this exciting addition.
