Canada’s Wonderland Retires Time Warp Rollercoaster Ahead of 2025 Season

Sunday 16 March 2025 News

Canada’s Wonderland has announced that one of its longtime fan-favorite rollercoasters will be retired ahead of the park’s reopening for the 2025 season.

The amusement park, located in Vaughan, Ontario, confirmed that the Time Warp rollercoaster will be permanently removed before the park opens in May. Originally introduced in 2004 as Tomb Raider: The Ride, this flying rollercoaster has provided more than 9.3 million thrilling rides over its two decades of operation.

Time Warp was known for its unique ride experience, positioning riders face-down to create the sensation of soaring through the air. However, the park has not yet revealed any specific plans for the space that will be left vacant after the ride's removal.

Canada’s Wonderland is set to welcome visitors back on May 8, 2025, with an exciting new addition on the horizon. The park previously announced the upcoming launch of AlpenFury, a dual-launch rollercoaster that is set to break records. AlpenFury promises to be Canada’s longest, tallest, and fastest launch coaster, offering a thrilling experience inside Wonder Mountain before propelling riders 50 meters into the sky. With nine inversions—the most for any launch coaster in North America—it is expected to be a must-ride attraction for thrill-seekers.

As Canada’s Wonderland prepares for an exciting new season, fans will have to bid farewell to Time Warp while looking forward to the exhilarating adventures that lie ahead.
